Monty Wooley is terrible in this film

Too bad they couldn't use Barrymore. He makes the film unwatchable for me (except for Ann Sheridan).

For me it's the guy who plays Bette Davis' love interest. He can't act and it is soo frustrating.

I don't agree witht he second post and the first one's just crazy talk.

The fact that people can't stand Monty Wooley tells me he was doing his job well. Most people I know who saw this on TV hated his character and would have tossed him into the snow but it was madcap comedy and that's how they did it in '42 and it worked.

You may as well go to perdition in ermine; you're sure to come back in rags. Katharine Hepburn

Read my reply to the op. It fits well with your post, too.

reply

What? You're saying the same response for someone who didn't like Monty Woolley in this as well as someone who did. What gives? Do you not like people sharing their opinions?

reply

The op is entitled to his opinion. I just shared my feelings about his opinion. As far as I was concerned, his opinion was way off. I feel that Woolley was perfect for the part. The whole cast was great. Have a safe holiday season.

It's great when someone like srklondie obnoxiously replies to two people in the same thread, then tap dances like an idiot when he's called out for it.

"Hmm, I don't agree with this person so I'll just quote da Vinci." 

Jimmy Stewart instead?

The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions.
