Jerry + Alan's love theme music

I watched this film with my Father and he told me that the theme music playing when Jerry and Alan had their scenes together was reminiscent or a direct copy of an original tune.

Can any fan of this film verify if this is indeed true?

Yes, the song was "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square."

there are lyrics to this, but don't know if they were added later. i first heard this by frank sinatra on his album 'great songs from great britain' -- beautiful song.

Just saw the movie this morning (never saw it before and i was glued to the tv) the song you're referring to is also on the Rod Stewart cd - Great American Songbook Volume III.

The song, A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, predates the film. It was published in 1940 and recorded that year by, among others, Vera Lynn, with whom it has always been identified.

How about the piece that ends the move and goes through the credits? I think I remember Cary Grant signing it in Gunga Din?

"I saw three dusters...inside the dusters were three men, inside the men were three bullets. "
