A very funny movie

William Powell is wonderful in drag and otherwise. Myrna Loy as always is a joy to watch. The profession of psychiatry gets a proper send up. I laughed a lot.

Long a favorite of mine. (Also be sure to see them in "I Love You Again," just as good as Love Crazy. BTW, I hated them (Loy and Powell) in Double Wedding.)

Just three other comments:
(1) I loved Gail Patrick in this movie. Actually, I thought she came out best -- great role and acting, and very beautiful.
(2) One really had to muster up "suspension of disbelief" in believing that two intelligent people could let the silly misunderstanding about the "lie" lead to divorce.
(3) I don't like slapstick physical comedy generally, but I really laughed over the elevator scene.

I totally agree with (2). I just started a post that kind of relates. Having them go from being so stable to so...not...was a little too much for me. :P That was the only drawback to the movie. It was a little to sad for Steve. They were just too adorable to break up for any length of time, or too seriously. :)
(Though I'm big on suspension of disbelief. :) )

1) I agree. Gail Patrick is under-rated. She gets a slightly more sympathetic role here than in ones I've seen her previously in. That should give some inclination of the nature of her career--usually relegated to playing the spoiled or stuck-up 'other woman. She is always fun though and adds a lot to the films I've seen her in. I almost thought she deserved Steve more than his wife. As much as I love, love, love Myrna Loy it was Patrick's character who stuck with him through thick and thin. But then again I guess I see where Myrna's character is coming from...being cheated on is not cool. And I do admire her for sticking up for that instead of just giving the 'boys will be boys' brush-off that sometimes happens. Okay, I'm rambling...

Gail was also very good in the type of role you describe in My Man Godfrey, which was also with William Powell. She was a very talented actress who didn't connect with casting people, I guess.

Stupid!?! I never called you stupid! To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people!
