The wrong co-stars
I love old B&W musicals but this one is so-so. Robert Young is a favorite of mine but he & Ann Southern both were miscast as the bickering songwriting couple. They have zero chemistry! I didn't even reconize Eleanor Powell because even though she has top billing she's a supporting character in this film. She doesn't even dance until about an hour into it! That's shameful. Another thing I disliked was the song "Lady Be Good" being spotlighted forever in this film. The song was sung over & over & over & over over by at least 8 or more people and the tune was also played on and on.Then it was played in instrumental form when Eleanor tap danced and so on and forever!
