I can't imagine that was really her singing "The Last Time I Saw Paris".

In the 1950s, when live studio productions of musicals were common on TV, Ann Sothern starred in one: Lady in the Dark.

If she had been dubbed--somebody by now would have said something. That was her voice. The song alone turned a C movie (at best) into something stupendous.

I just watched that scene, and it gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. I can only imagine how it affected an audience in 1941.
