Eve?

Can someone tell me why it's called it started with Eve when Deanna plays a woman called Anne, and her false identity is Gloria.

I thought it may have been the 'eve' of something, but then what, and why is 'Eve' always capitalised?

reply

Eve, the Biblical first female, who yielded to temptations from the serpent and at the forbidden fruit, then took it to her husband Adam, who also are, and both were caste out of Eden.

I suppose the biblical reference works, though i'm not sure what the proverbial 'apple' would be in this film.

It seems to me there were too many classic titles involving the name 'Eve'

Thank you for your help.

It just means that women mean trouble.

The "apple" in the film is the party where Anne will meet the musical bigwigs who can possibly launch her career. It tempts her to continue the charade that she's John's fiancee, which tempts John to fall in love with her an his father to be smitten with her.
