birds

What are the birds that land on the window sill? I doubt they're anything you'd encounter in Wales. My first thought was they might be Yellow-billed Magpies, which you find in California, but my second thought is they aren't.

Darn it, I just deleted the movie from my DVR, or I would go back and take a closer look. I remember that scene well, and the birds, and I know I thought they were magpies also. What made you think they were not magpies?

Well, the markings look somewhat different (the film birds are white on the back of their necks where magpies are black), but most clearly the birds in the film don't have particularly long tails, which magpies do (whether American or European).
