Funniest Part

I really enjoyed this movie and can understand how it won 5 oscars despite believing that Citizen Kane was a better overall film.

However, I did find one part a little odd which my girlfriend laughed histarically at.
When the little boy is first in bed after falling in through the ice, the preacher is talking to him and gives him Treasure Island. When the boy reaches out helplessly, he has the weirdest expression on his face and then smiles oddly as he holds the book.
I rewound it and rewatched several times as my girlfriend continued to laugh hysterically.

I told her he was sick and couldn't walk and that she had no heart, but she continued to laugh.

Did anyone else find this humorous or is my girlfriend a sick, twisted, heartless person?

The funniest part was definately the boxer's revenge on the bullying school teacher.

I, too, laughed when he lunged for the book or whatever....It IS funny looking. My wife asked me what I thought was so funny, and I said something like, "Didn't you see how goofy he looked?" It reminded me of Tiny Tim in one of those great versions of "A Christmas Carol" when he goes spastic at the site of the goose...

ZI always like the scene where Angharad slaps Hew bottom lol.

The most humorous scene was Dai Bando "imparting" his knowledge of boxing to the teacher Mr Jonas, inadvertedly knocking him out cold in the process.

I also found quite funny the scene during Ivor and Bronwen's wedding, where Beth Morgan sniffles, then looks briefly at Angharad who was sitting beside her, then as if on cue. starts bawling loudly above the singing of the congregation. I wonder if anyone else noticed this?

Cool Hand,

Roddy McDowall has often displayed what seemed to me to be some peculiar expressions...throughout his career. I don't know what it is except just a personal peculiarity of his. Early in this film, when his father is walking him around and a herd of sheep passes, there is a quick shot of Roddy showing a peculiar expression. I backed it up and looked again, because it just looked odd...unreadable. Hmmm

My ex-husband, and I do mean EX husband also laughed
when the helpless little boy reaches for the Treasure Island book.
Yes, Cool Hand Whitt, I think she (girlfirend) is a sick, twisted, heartless person.

For me the funniest part is where the grandmother claims the new grandchild looks liker her father, and the new grandfather does a double take before muttering that it is ridiculous. This was so absolutely true to life and the acting by Crisp was so nuanced it is delightful.

That was such a great expression! He was in the middle of saying something and made the point to stop everything, double take and tell her how silly that idea was lol That was a good one.

I found it pretty hilarious at the first wedding, the oldest son tries to put his hand in his pocket while waiting for the bride and the father just whips the crap out've his forearm. So authoritative and out of no where I think that was what got the biggest laugh out've me.

Your girlfriend is twisted - no offence meant! 
