This song's words and melody have stayed with me for over 45 years since I first saw Mr. Bug as a kid.... I saw it in SF in the late '50's at one of those 24 hour, old movie theatres you can now find only in NYC. All larger cities had them at one time and you could see anything from The Great Train Robbery through Wings through Wizard of Oz through Nora Prentiss and then they were gone. Guess not enough people cared any longer. I still do, with a passion. Ever see/hear Ann Sheridan sing "Who Cares What People Say" in Nora Prentiss? I guarantee you would melt to nothing, but who even knows or ever heard of that terrific song now? What a shame.
My question is...why isn't every single one of those great old films available on DVD or tape just like Mr. Bug(Hoppity)is now? Why isn't there a company seeking them out and putting them in modern DVD format? Do I have to do that too? I know many people who aren't film reviewers who still would love to see them and would also love to add them to their personal libraries just like I would.
Thanks for reading, and for caring. R
