Joan Leslie or Ida Lupino? It occurred to me that their roles in HS are switched - Ida would come to be known for playing more hard boiled dames and tough cases, more avaricious women. And Joan became known for playing the sweet girl.

The scene where Velma rejects Roy, and the meeting of Joan and Ida - both gorgeous women - made me wonder who I'd rather have as my girlfriend (what with Roy being obsessed with Velma/Joan). For me it's pretty easy - as much as I like Joan Leslie, I LOVE me some Ida Lupino. How do the rest of you feel?

Their roles were not reversed. Lupino was playing the "more hard boiled" dame, and Leslie was playing "the sweet girl."

Ida Lupino was way hotter, specially in other movies, not even close.
