Cute movie

I would perhaps not have thought that cute is the best description for this film, but there you go.

Extraordinary to think that Ms Takamine was barely 17, if that, at the making of the film, with there already many of signs of her future greatness fully on display.

Not a heavy fare, this, but a wonderful "little film" that ambles along very nicely and also manages to entertain, at the same time giving a glimpse of rural Japan in 1945.
