it had all the elements....an affair, a pregnancy by the mistress, a deceptive baby scandal, someone presumed dead who shows up alive, sarcastic high catty tension between the 2 dames. it was like watching a soap! it was great!

During some scenes, the movie even had the dramatic violins in the background. When one of the actors would say something really soapy.

Your post is right on point. I wonder if Pete could have left Maggie for the baby? The movie gave us a refreshing take, where he was willing to give up his son for Maggie. But he did want to do the right thing once by Sandra. However, after watching the movie, they painted Sandra as the perfect villain. Motherhood was not for her, and Pete would have caught on.
