Hutterite and Winnipeg scenes

Why is Winnipeg not listed as a filming location on the imdb "filming locations" section when there are a number of scenes that were obviously filmed there?

Also, I heard that they used an actual Hutterite colony for those scenes. Does anyone have any clue which colony this would be? It would be interesting to go to the colony now and ask some of the older people if they know or remember anything about the film, as I'm sure it would have been a memorable experience - not exactly the type of thing that happens every day.
