Peter Cushing

I have just been listening to 'Great Lives' on BBC Radio 4 about Peter Cushing.

There was a great little anecdote about how Cushing was working behind the scenes on 49th Parallel making props. He was living in digs making little swastikas to be pushed around on boats on a map. His landlady came in to tidy up and saw what she thought was Nazi paraphernalia. Cushing found himself nearly being arrested by the Canadian Police thinking he was a nazi sympathiser in the midst of WWII!
