The Two Jahners

Everyone knows of the two Annas in 49th Parallel, but what about the two Jahners? Is the actor playing Jahner up to the arrival of the seaplane the same actor as the one playing Jahner from that point onwards?

I have seen the movie several times and it looks like the same person throughout the character's screen time. Also there is nothing in the credits or trivia section that says the part was played by two different actors.

Are you sure you haven't confused Jahner with the young blonde english character at the start of the film that gets shot by the Germans?

The eternal question: who am I? The eternal answer: I do not know

There were two Annas?
Really?

See the IMDb Trivia item about Elisabeth Bergner at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0033627/trivia. Bergner ran away to America while they were filming in Canada. It later transpired that the main reason Bergner had joined the film was to get to America. As a German Jew living in England, she apparently felt that the Nazis were a little too close for comfort.

The long shots of Anna across the field still show Bergner. But all the other shots are, of course, of Glynis Johns.

At the time, Bergner was a star and Johns was an unknown so it's a rare case of a star acting as a stand-in for an unknown
