Basil Appleby went on Thursday, December 22, 2016, after a long, fulfilled and happy life in the age of 97. The urn will be set at a later date in the circle of his family and friends.

Thank you, Shadow. Hadn't heard the news. Not bad, to outlive one of your movies by 76 years.

This is just the kind of thing we need the IMDb message boards for. Pity they'll all be gone in two weeks.
