Sounds a lot like..........

Within the first 5 minutes I was thinking "Where's Bill Powell?" (Unfortunately, it was made by the wrong studio.) To my great surprise, Flynn pulls the whole thing off almost as well as Bill Powell could have. (Almost. Powell is unsurpassable.) Brenda Marshall does a fine job in an underwritten part, but she is no Myrna Loy or Carole Lombard.

I wonder why Warner Brothers did not turn this into a series, either an A-film series like the Thin Man, keeping Flynn and Marshall in their parts, or a B series with lesser stars taking over the lead roles.
