timothy mouse's ny accent

kind of a trivial question but i'm not from ny and i was told the accents in the burroughs are different. is he from brooklyn? lol

reply

That is a yes.

reply

I believe Edward Brophy, a native of NY, was speaking in his normal voice. It's too bad he didn't do more voice-over work.

reply

Clearly a Brooklynese accent..

reply

Tradtionally each burough has had its own unique local accent, but those accents are dying out more and more. They're very rare these days, especially among young people.

reply

If I was a female mouse I'd think he's hot.

Brooklyn..he and Herman from Paramount/Famous's "Herman and Katnip"(actually at first a solo as Herman preced him), were Brooklyn-originated, tough-but-tender mice (Herman protecting the innocent mice, Timothy protecting Dumbo), and their respective voices were similar (Ed Brophy, and Arnold Stang)
