Anybody out there?

I started this thread to say "hey" to anyone else who's enjoying the Kildare episodes on TCM right now. I was in the middle of something and I heard the infamous voice of "Mr. Potter" coming from the other room. I haven't seen the Kildare movies for quite a while, but I dropped everything to watch these shows....So much for getting anything accomplished today!

Thanks,
Mike

The movies are great. They are being shown because today is Lew Ayres birthday.

I never miss the Kildare movies. I've always been a great fan of both leads, and also have a blast with all the "Classic Characters" that show up in every episode.

I'd like to give a special "Shout-Out" to Miss Marie Blake, who plays the sassy, good-hearted Sally, one of the Switchboard operators at the Hospital. This is one time where nepotism really works:

Marie Blake's real name was Blossom Marie MacDonald, and she was fortunate to have a sister working at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Miss Marie Blake's sister was a magical singer named Jeanette MacDonald.

Fans can also find Miss Blake in the 1960's horror comedy THE ADDAMS FAMILY...acting under her married name of Blossom Rock.

Today was absolutely MARVELOUS, thanks to the gang at Blair General Hospital!

I love the old Dr. Kildare films, and also the radio series. Not a fan of the TV version tho. I initially didn't care for Lionel Barrymore, but that was before I saw him in the Kildare series, and other films like Key Largo. He was a great talent.
