It reminds me of 'It Happened One Night'

The story has similarities to It Happened One Night with the latter having more depth and the blossoming of the relationship more rooted in personal growth of the characters.

A spoiled heiress is determined to marry a man that she believes she's in love with after a short courtship and the father who smells fortune-hunting in the prospective son-in-law will do everything to stop or annul the marriage. There's the impromptu trip where the heiress roughs it out. And the movie also ends with the honeymoon night.

But The Bride Came C.O.D. is still fun and since I'm not a big fan of screwball, I'm pleased that this movie doesn't go over the top with the spills and falls. Davis' behind landing on the cacti three times is just right.

I always thought the two actors, Eugene Pallette and Walter Connolly, played virtually the same characters. In this case, they both played the harried fathers of runaway brides, in It Happened One Night and The Bride Came COD respectively.

So, yes, I can definitely see a resemblance between the movies/
