Horrid person to love

How the heck could anybody be in love with that brassy ballbreaker "Screaming Mimi" named Kay.She never stopped whining long enough for anyone to like her.Usually the sucker falls in love with some phony persona the person puts on.She was unbearable from the moment they first met her.

although not as horrible, betty field's character reminded me so much of ann savage's character in detour, especially her fast talking and short delivery.

I agree. Jigger made especially questionable choices. His choice to bounce from one band to another didn't add up. I would've liked the screenwriter to explore more about why he was that way. It seemed like a happy ending for "the unit," but I doubt Jigger would resist getting himself into other messes in the future.

Jigger should have chosen Character.

I thought he was going to . She was married, though, so because of the production code, her husband would've had to die or something so that she could get together with Jigger.

I too recognized her from her later work where she played an old bitty who was generally unpleasant. I agree though. Why would anyone be attracted to someone like her who really wasn't very good looking (Although when her hair was down and wet from the rain she didn't look too bad......Until she opened her mouth again that is) or very personable.

Jigger on the other hand looked like someone kind of living on the ledge most of the time until he finally broke down. Apparently she was the only available woman in that area so he latched on. I mean it was very strange that out of the blue he told her he loved her when there was nothing even close to chemistry between them. In fact he seemed to dislike her, and not in the phones they do today where you know it's a lead up to a big romance. He really seemed disgusted by her.

I agree! She was over the top horrid and snarky and loud. I think the editing was lacking to show where their relationship stemmed from.
