Good movie??

Just curious

It's OK. Worth a look, but a little bland and very sentimental. There are plenty of more memorable weepies from the period but Garson's good work just about carries it. 5/10 from me.

Blossoms in the Dust is overly sentimental and melodramatic but Greer Garson's performance helps us sympathise and support her character through her tribulations.

Ten out of TEN Stars from me. Just listen, when Edna refuses to tell the abusive father the whereabouts of the child he signed away. She's willing to go to jail. rather than violate the rights of the child and his new family.

Listen too, when Edna argues in the State Legislature, about how every human being has the right to make his OWN good name...free from prejudice. She then challenges the Senators to pick out three "illegitimate" Adults who grew up into good Citizens.

"....There are no "Illegitimate" Children...only "Illegitimate" PARENTS..."
