Throughout history (at least the relevant part) illegitimacy was used as lever to get people to behave appropriately. It was said that without the burden/blot/stigma of being a bastard, out of wedlock births would skyrocket resulting in a heavy burden on the citizens/taxpayers and an increase in family disintegration and social ills. Can you believe that people actually had such quaint yet idiotic notions? Sex education in the public schools was what we needed. I mean it's not as if some people were asking society to pay for/give them free rubbers and sponges. Or feed, clothe and house the children that sometimes mysteriously appear. I'm so glad we've advanced as a society so people are not burdened by their decisions. Now with Obamacare we are free not to work and can pursue creative activities like painting or sexual intercourse.

Too bad we can't go back to the days when it was legal to destroy the lives of the innocents to punish their sinful parents. If we could just go back to the good ole days, when women folk and the coloreds knew their place, then we, the superior tax - paying legitimates could still look down from our self-made pedestals with proper indignant disdain. Surely, this would solve all society's ills and make taxes obsolete.

Don't have to go back. Abortion is legal. Tens of millions of innocents have been destroyed. And nice try - conflating illegitimacy with civil rights. Your straw man, oops sorry, straw person could feed a thousand head of cattle. Your feeble attempt at wit is especially ironic since the black (colored is considered outdated) population suffers disproportionately from abortion and out-of-wedlock births. It is true racists like Sanger who are the abortion supporters. Of course the fact that it's a big buck industry doesn't hurt either.

Agree wholeheartedly.

People who compare abortion to the Holocaust are SO lucky they're online. I'm Jewish and I have a VERY bad temper. If I knew who they were I don't know if I could control myself (red hair). I have weapons AND training. Not to mention I had an abortion once because it.was medically necessary.

Cattle eat hay, not straw which is completely devoid of nutrition. Straw would starve them to death.

BTW, 'black' is a racist term since a decade ago. No surprise there. African American or People of Colour, do try to keep up.

Margaret Sanger was mistaken in her support for eugenics but she was right that women should be in control of our own fertility.

You're very ignorant. How young are you? Women don't suffer from abortion. It costs nearly $200,000 to raise a child to age 18. Fathers walk away but we women are left holding the baby. Who pays for food, housing, medical care and education? The GOP cuts welfare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Housing and all the programs that help children and mothers. You people aren't pro anything. You're just forced birthers.

If you cared about children you'd be in favour of programs that helped kids. You're not. If you wanted to reduce abortions you'd be in favour of birth control. You're not. You can't have it both ways, so you lose.
