Sister Martha Ann, go back to church -- the singing is better there (although I do like the instrumental music in the sinful city).

I'm really enjoying the spirituals in this film.

It's available on the new boxed set PIONEERS OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN CINEMA. I've read about this film for years, and only saw a part of it on TV years and years ago---now I'm finally setting down to watch it.
