this movie is too long, takes about 30 minutes just to get to where tyrone power is an adult. it really drags with all that back story. curious since darryl f zanuck himself produced this film, an acknowledged genius of story and pacing. notice that george reeves has a small part in this, obviously not enough to keep him from killing himself about 15 yrs later.
shareAgreed! The beginning was excruciatingly long & boring. I sat through the first 20 minutes and got nothing out of it, so I fast-forwarded until Hayworth comes in (an hour into the movie) to see if it'd get any better. It did become interesting then and I'm glad I watched what I did. I never skip through movies, but I just had to on this one...
