BEERY - MAIN

I really enjoyed this old Western. Beery's great as an angel/devil and does both parts well. But the real surprise is Marjorie Main finding her on-screen love. She and Beery are the highlight of this film. They're not together for long on the screen, but what's there is pure delight. I never saw Marjorie's face light up like it did when she was with Beery. George Custer before the massacre? Wow. This movie's got a bit of everything. This is NOT your standard Cowboy - Indian movie. It's more of your RANCHER - FARMER fight with Beery as the avenging angel/devil. Joseph Calleia is as evil as you'll ever see him. Lots of things to like in this one, including that scenery way out west in WYOMING.
