My grandpa was a stunt rider in this film

I haven't watched it yet, and it is quite likely that he's not recognizable anyway, but I do have copies of payroll records from the Warner Bros. archive that list him as a "stunt rider". Thanks again to the fine folks at IMDB for making it even more fun to indulge in my little family history research hobby. :)

Check out my grandpa!

Could you tell me where Virginia City was filmed? I thought it was filmed at a ranch in NM. Please reply to

I bet he was that guy who stood in for Errol Flynn rolling downhill on (and under) a horse about halfway through. That was some stunt.

That was indeed an amazing stunt, and I have cited it in my soon-to-be-published essay about Terminator 2.

So what was you Grandpa's name?
I've always had an interest in stuntmen so if you could post his name, that would be a welcome adddition to my files.

I just looked up your grandpa....interesting! You should post a biography for him on his site. The picture was pretty small, but he looked like he had the movie star looks. Did you ever have the opportunity to talk with him about his career? I noticed tht he was also a stunt double (as opposed to stunt rider) in The Adventures of Robin Hood. That makes me wonder if he had a friendship with Erroll Flynn. Have you learned anything about that?

Excuse my enthusiasm, but I really enjoy the minutae of history, especially the history of film!
