One Word: AWFUL

As a lover of classic film, and of "I Love Lucy", I finally settled in and watched this turkey
last night. Words cannot describe how awful this movie is. From its first scene until its
last, it is virtually unwatchable.

Yes, Ball was beautiful, and Aranz was fresh and handsome, but the hackneyed screenplay and
cluttered choreography do it in. Fast. I wanted to punch Eddie Bracken (if only he'd
SHUT UP), as well as the rest of the cast.

Ann Miller? Was she out to win the dorkiest dancer award??? Good grief. Compare
her clumsy, klutzy foot work here to her excellent work at MGM in later years.

The score: Only two great songs - "You're Nearer" and "I Didn't Know What Time It is",
the latter ruined by it being sung TO Aranz BY Bracken (very unfunny).

Richard Carlson was wasted (and, apparently, had a tiff with his barber. That hair!!).

A mess that ran for 85 minutes and felt like 850 minutes.

Avoid at all costs.

Hahaha. I guess this was the 1940 forerunner of "I Love Lucy".
