I grew up watching this movie

I remember my father showing me this when I was like, 8 years old? I dunno, somewhere around that age. It was a VHS tape recorded from a television airing back in the 90s. The quality was kinda crappy, the color hadn't been restored yet, but I remember loving it! Now I'm an adult and I still watch it once or twice a year. I'm so happy the criterion collection restored it and got it back into circulation. Such a good little movie. The special effects were not bad for the time, and it is just a fun movie to watch.

Hooray for old movies! They don't make em like that anymore.

This was certainly one of the first 'old' movies I ever watched as a kid, along with King Kong, probably sometime around the early 80s. It remains one of my absolute favourites and I have seen it many times. One of the most beautiful and enchanting films ever made, surely.
