DVD Documentary

Being an Ann Sheridan fan I was disappointed by the documentary that came with the DVD. After talking about the "triangle" between Raft, Lupino and Bogart (?), there was only a brief mention of Ann. Too bad I can't rate this documentary on the web page, but I'll do it right here: 5 out of 10, for the error and the oversight.

Ann was a hottie. Shes one of the few actresses that Ive seen in films of that era who were down right flaming hot even by todays stadards. She had the girl next door appeal, and from other documentary shorts I have seen of her off screen she definately knew how to flaunt it. Oomph Girl!

The triangle was between Raft, Lupino and Hale. That's why Sheridan won't have been mentioned that much.

How do you like them apples?

reply

It was more like Raft, Lupino and Sheridan.

Besides, the point I was trying to make was the DVD documentary focused on Raft, Lupino and Bogart when that wasn't actually a part of the movie.

thats true, I see your point.. but forget the docu. we have the movie itself. I cant think of a prettier actress from that era, personally.

She was very sweet. A fine actress as well, never too dramatic, and always believable.

Watch the documentary again. The context is clearly a discussion about the 3 stars and the triangle" of their charisma and star power on screen, not about a romantic triangle in the plot.

I do think she was overshadowed in the documentary. She's also awesome in the James Cagney comedy Torrid Zone from 1940. I just watched it last night and both her performance and the film as a whole were very enjoyable.
