Pinball

I've seen a lot of classic movies lately and I have realized that Flipper was apparently a big thing back in the day. (Would probably not have noticed if it hadn't been for my boyfriend being a pinball nerd, though...)

I saw this exact game in another movie, I think it was "The big sleep". Anyone know what it's called? Would like to impress the bf with my knowledge... Haha.... Thanks!

There are actually two different machines that appear in the film. In the first scene in a diner, Roscoe Karns (as "Irish") plays one I can't identify. In a later scene in a café, the same machine appears in the background, whilst Karns plays a "Big Six", made 1939 by J.H. Keeney and Company Inc. Note that these machines are actually flipperless (the first pinball machine with flippers came out in late 1947).

I just watched "The Big Sleep" and there are no pinball machines :-(.
