Gale Page beats out Lupino and Sheridan

Men have argued about for years but nobody can ever say to me that the
girl next door is ulitimatly the woman that men end up with or wish that
they did. I saw Gale page in four daughters and naughty but nice and my
answer is she had more sex appeal than most. I first saw they drive by
night when I was single and the part where she wants bogie to quit the road
and get a job in town made me think-'that's the kind of girl I want'.
That's the kind of girl you would have a 50+ marriage with.

I agree, the character Gale Page plays in They Drive By Night is the type of woman that would be a man's life long lover. Her character would become the quintessential 1950's wife and mother; unfortunately this persona was what many women of the 1960's and 1970's rebelled against. It is now 2014, maybe a stable home life, a place a family can call home and children that know and respect their parents is not so bad after all.

Gale Page does not "beat out" Ann Sheridan in They Drive By Night. Ann Sheridan's character in the movie is just as reliable and homey as Page, Ann's character is just not married yet.

I couldn't agree more with this comment. Ann Sheridan has it all going on in this movie, plus she knows how to handle herself. Because of this movie I'll pay more attention to movies she was in.
