Dress won by Joan Crawford in the last scene

Actually I very much liked most of the clothes worn by the characters in this film. I loved the evening gown Joan Crawford's character Susan wore the first evening she was visiting her friend Irene: http://www.legendaryjoancrawford.com/susanandgod.html,
and http://www.allmovie.com/movie/susan-and-god-v48014.

However, I was wondering what others thought of the dress Ms. Crawford wore in the last scene:

The treatment around the collar also appears at her left cuff and trims a pocket also on her left. The treatment is grand in scale and in my opinion overdone. It flops about and just too much when used three times in such proximity to each other. Any comments?

The neck treatment was distracting in my opinion. All of those dangling loops made it look like Joan was being strangled by a jellyfish.

The dress ruined the scene for me. And it was a great scene.....but all I could think about was taking a pair of scissors to all of that stupid white frouf.

I'm a massive Adrian fan, but I hated that dress. I found it distracting. It reminded me of a sea anemone,
