Most people may not consider this a Christmas movie, but I do and watch it ever holiday season. My favorite scene of the film is when Matuschek and Rudy are talking about Christmas Eve dinner...two lonely people who will now enjoy the evening together. I just love that scene. Anyone else?

shareI'm not sure how anybody could consider this to not be a Christmas movie. It takes place during Christmas. Most of the action revolves around Christmas gifts, Christmas decorating, etc.
shareIt is a nice movie to watch at Christmas, but I can watch it quite happily at other times too. I alao love the scene where Mr Mutaschek and Rudy discuss Christmas dinner. it is nice to think of them enjoying their evening together.

shareIt is definitely Christmas-ish. It's as much of a Christmas movie as It's a Wonderful Life is.
I draw a distinction though between movies that are actually about Christmas (e.g. Elf, Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story) and films that take place during Christmas but don't really have Christmas-centric plots (Die Hard, It's a Wonderful Life, The Long Kiss Goodnight). I'd say The Shop Around the Corner is the latter.
