So many double take jokes.

I do enjoy the humour in Pinocchio, but something I found quite distracting is how many double take jokes there are. The "wait, what!?" moments. Anyone else notice how much they use this gag?

(After Pinocchio comes to life)
Geppetto: "Who's there?"
Pinocchio: "It's me!"
Geppetto: "Oh, it's me... Huh!?"

(When the fox and the cat walk past Pinocchio)
Honest John: "A little wooden boy... A wooden boy!?"

Coachman: "And I takes them to Pleasure Island."
Honest John: "Ahh, Pleasure Island... Pleasure Island!?"

Jiminy: "It says here he went looking for you and he was swallowed by a whale."
Pinocchio: "Swallowed by a whale?"
Jiminy: "Yeah, uh huh, and... A whale?!"

(Inside the whale)
Pinocchio: "Father! Father!"
Geppetto: "Don't bother me now, Pinocchio... Pinocchio!?"

You forgot:

(At Pleasure Island)

Pinocchio: Lampwick's my best friend.
Jiminy: I will...Huh?!!? Your best friend!

The movie's littered with moments like those, but i for one am not distracted by them in the least... in fact, they add to the movie's old-style charm, in my opinion. If there's anything that distracts me though, it would Disney's obvious fascination with asses. One of the earliest moments of that in Pinnochio is when Jiminy rubs his hands over his rump, in front of the hot coal he pulls out of Geppeto's hearth - and it just keeps going from there! Geppeto mentions Pinnichio's "little wooden seat" during their puppet dance, he swings Pinnochio's foot straight into Figaro's butt, etc.

And of course Jiminy's line "As I sat there, warming my uh--self by the fire!"

Disney kind of has a history with that:

Snow White:

Doc: "Search every hook and fan--Search everywhere."

Fantasia:

The bit with the cupid forming a heart

Peter Pan:

Tinker Bell examining herself at the beginning.

Beauty and the Beast:

Cogsworth skewering LeFou's bottom with the scissors

Aladdin:

Aladdin: "Not every day you see a horse with two rear ends."
The genie rubbing his enormous rump!

Lion King:

Zazu flattened against the rhino's rump (tongue twister not intended)
The "cactus butt" joke
Pumbaa's gas problem
"Home is where your rump rests."
"Why do I always have to save your--AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

Hunchback of Notre Dame:

"Pour the wine and cut the cheese!"

Freaky Friday (The remake)

"That's definitely not mine!"

Brother Bear:

Where to begin with this one.

Princess and the Frog:

Any time Ray makes a comment about his light i.e. "Don't make me light my butt!"

The prickles on Louis's rear end.

Let me know if i missed any.

"Let me know if i missed any."

There are probably hundreds of ass-related moments in the entire Disney catalog. The next time i watch Pinnochio, I'll make it a goal to count each and every instance that seemingly dwells on ass. I'll post my findings here, even.

Well, there is the part where we see lampwick's ass close up then out comes a tail. Lol I love the double takes in this movie.

Getting back to the double take jokes, there's actually a bit in the Monstro level from Kingdom Hearts that pays tribute to that:

Donald: Hey! Who's there?
Pinocchio: It's me!
Donald: Oh it's just Pinocchio. Pinocchio?!!?

"HOPSCOTCH!"

I know this thread is nearly 4 years old, but I see all these mentions of asses and no one brings up Stromboli shaking his booty when he locks up Pinocchio

LOL I know, right? Funny as f--k :D
