What did you rate ''Pinocchio'' (1940)?

imdb.com/title/tt0032910/ratings

Pinocchio may be the greatest animated film of all. Almost 70 years later, with vastly improved technology, there hasn't been anything more impressive.

I rated it 10/10. What did you rate it? What do you think of it?

10/10 Absolutely love the movie. Beautiful animation, fantastic songs and great characters, Figaro is my favourite.

I love the running gag in which Figaro does not want to show any affection toward Cleo - until that joyful moment at the end.

Beautiful movie.

Only Fantasia 10/10 and Beauty and the Beast 9/10

I am not precisely Disney's greatest fan, nevertheless you can't help but admire the superb craftmanship found in movies like Fantasia, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio and even Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc. In short: The classics.

reply

Pinocchio for me belongs among Disney's greatest achievements at 10/10 along with Fantasia and Bambi.

reply

Which of those three films would you put on top?

...Justin Glory be, Delbert, you should eat! You're a count, for God's sake!

reply

It's hard for me to separate them and on different days I'd choose a different one but if pushed, I'd rate Pinocchio for the story, Fantasia for the visuals, music and overarching vision and Bambi for the beauty of the animation and the depth of the whole experience.

10/10 my personal fave animated movie since i was a kid.

"You gotta be Fking kidding"-The Thing.

10/10. The animation is absolutely breathtaking, the characters are so instantly lovable, and it is quite possibly the deepest animated film ever made, rich with endless amounts of subtext, "human situation" questions, and some truly great life lessons all mixed into one giant charming package. A near-perfect piece of cinematic art.

I gave it a 9/10, there's a little lull in the narrative towards the end which slow things down, preventing it from being a perfect 10. Dumbo is better.

9/10.

Classic!

update: 10/10! One of the greatest films ever.

I rated it an 8/10. It's not the best Disney movie but it's up there.

I gave it a 10/10. I also gave 101 Dalmatians(1961) a 10, and Mary Poppins a 10, and Peter Pan a 10. My four favorite Disney movies.
