I've no idea about the quality- here's hoping it's good but we'll simply have to wait until we (or dvdbeaver) see it...

The reviews as per quality are not good unfortunately, my wait goes on let's hope a blu-ray release is on the horizon.

The official DVD looks great, particularly on modern, high-definition TVs.

It hasn't been "re-mastered" or "digitally-restored," but the colors are vivid and bright, with few and far-between flaws visible only to the most discerning critic. Most of the film looks like it could have been shot yesterday.

A great, early three-strip Technicolor (MGM's second, after "Gone With The Wind") viewing experience.
