Populist - socialist creed

Of course that's what they would teach. The offical name of the Nazi Party was the National Socialist German Workers' Party, so it makes sense that they would espouse the typical socialist ideas. The ironic thing about it all is that socialism is supposed to be a peaceful philosophy, yet all the world powers of the era embraced varying degrees of socialism while engaged in a World War.

"Why do you find it so hard to believe?"
"Why do you find it so easy?"
"It's never BEEN easy!"

Sigh. That's the mark of totalitarian state regardless of creed. The EU has plenty of socialism right now, are they not democracies? Are they oppressed by their governments? Nazism and socialism are not the same, the name of the party doesn't mean squat. Austria has a neo-Nazi party called the Freedom Party, does that makes them OK if they have that name?

There is a difference where people collectively share resources in order to survive or make life easier and more efficient than a system where freedom of thought, press, movement, and association is ruthless suppressed to the point of death and imprisonment. In modern western socialist societies a person can choose not to participate but he won't share in its benefits also( i.e. refuse to work and become homeless, not pay into old age pension fund and therefore will not receive a pension in old age, etc , etc ). In a fascist system such acts are criminalized.
