Yes, but not as a movie, a Broadway show

There are two successful musicals set during Nazi Germany times - Cabaret and The Sound of Music. In these two, there are potential scenes for singing and dancing.

I don't see it in The Mortal Storm.

The storyline is also too depressing for a musical even though depressing storylines didn't hamper Fiddler on the Roof and The Color Purple.

God, I hope you're being sarcastic! Ugh!!!

Sure, but with a twist: every time a character begins a song other than the Horst Wessel song, the Nazis instantly shoot him or her.

I always say I dislike musicals but apparently that's not true. There are some I actually like. The Sound of music, for instance, is one of my favorite movies. As a child I never paid much attention to the plot. I just related to the kids and loved singing along with the songs.

Later I realized it dealt with a serious subject matter but that didn't matter. The movie works as a musical because the singing and dancing fit naturally into what they might have done. The family

The Mortal Storm as a musical would be a disaster. It would definitely be everything I despise about musicals. When characters artificially break into song and all do a very choreographed dance routine as if they'd never practiced it is an insult on my senses! The importance of the story would be lost.
