I thought Brownie was the real star

Preston Sturges is of course a genius and nowhere is this more apparent than in his use of the dog. The dramatic function of the family that McGinty acquires is of course to be just that - a regular all-American clean living family. His writing and direction of the dog character are unsurpassable.

I love Brownie, too. The scene where she drags her house down the hall is priceless.

Agreed on all counts. Who played Brownie? I can't find her listed in the credits.
