The third act was kind of shaky

Despite the effort to convey that things have gotten serious once Shultz and the barber are arrested. However, things got even campier and more drawn out with the food fight and such. The genuine sense of drama and terror that some bits in the first two acts did have were surprisingly kept to a minimum. In a way, the third act was anti-climactic. Still a very good movie.

I agree 100% the food fight went on way to long as did the train gag and yes like you say a bit shaky the the third act it could of been trimmed a wee bit but it doese end on a high note with the speach and is overall a very good film but not IMO Chaplin's best but a more than worthy chapter in his legacy

you will have to forgive the lack of full stops lack of proper spelling im dyslexic but not stupid
