6.8/10 ? whatever, stupid voters.

you don't give this a 7 just because the opera/races were better than it .. c'mon if you watch any non-marx bros movie from the 40s or 30s or even 50s.. and then watch this .. you will become a marx bros fan immediately. and you would give it 9/10 or even 10/10 .

This is a very good film, enjoyable, funny and lots of action. It makes no use to watch this as another Marx Bros film, like said above, the comparants make no justice for goodness of this film.

the music scenes are what dragged it down a lot. the rest was great.

I agree. Most of it was good. But the husky-sounding woman singing in the saloon can go, no need for that scene. And the entire scene at the Indian camp can go too. That was extremely tedious and pretty much worthless, other than as a vehicle for Harpo to get in his musical number. I would have been fine with Harpo playing something at the saloon and cutting that entire camp scene. It still gets 7/10 from me, though, the rest of the film redeems these slow parts.

Of the four Marx Bros movies I've seen, I gave Duck Soup 9, and the others all got 8. I'm not a stupid voter, am I?!

I like the musical numbers, but not enough to give out 9's and 10's... I take 9's and 10's pretty seriously.
