Why was Carol uposet about the extra room?

When Carol overhears Jones/Haberstock ask for another hotel room when they "kidnap" each other, she gets upset. Did I miss something? She couldn't have been expecting them to share a room before marriage, or am do I not understand 40s film/culture very well?

WHAT!?! That's the most ludicrous answer I've ever seen. Did you even watch this movie? She had absolutely no idea that her father was a spy or suspected of being a spy at this point in the movie.
1. Bells didn't start to ring until she picks up the phone in her Dad's office and hears Krug's voice. This takes place AFTER she returns home from the hotel.
2. On the plane, her Dad talks to her about being a spy, and she says that she didn't suspect until Krug's phone call.

Carol had no intention of staying the night--she was driving Jones to the Inn so he'd be safely hidden from the bad guys. The plan was to drop him off and drive back home. When she overheard Jones book another room it became obvious to her that he was planning to seduce her into sleeping with him--something she had NO intention of doing.

No clue. Like most of the film, that made absolutely no sense. A poor effort by Hitch. 5/10.
