Jones/Haberstock's notes to Carol.

During Carol's speech at the party early on in the movie, Jones /Haberstock had slipped in a few flirtatious notes despite the fact that he did not know who she was so therefore couldn't have known she would be speaking. Am I correct or is there something I missed?

Jones not knowing who Fischer was had nothing to do with the notes or her making a speech. He was smitten with "a girl sitting on the dais" and was flirting via the notes. When she gets up to speak it's only then that Jones realizes who she is...and then is smitten even more.

Ah, clarity. That makes sense, he just slipped some notes into her purse not knowing she would be speaking. Thanks.

Basically. Although he didn't slip them into her purse--he saw her sitting on the dais and sent the notes over one at a time via the waiter. On the last attempt the waiter said, "I'm sorry Sir, but the young lady will not accept any more notes."

We see three of the four: How about lunch tomorrow? How about dinner then? Do you believe in large families? We see a 4th note on the bottom but can't see what it says...I always wondered about that one. :)
