After the shooting competition, the squadron gave Drake the cold shoulder. Later that evening,at Commander Gary's house, they welcomed him like nothing happened. Why the change of heart of the squadron?
shareLorna Gary, the commander's wife, dragged him into the party and got him involved in the friendly dispute they were having. He comported himself in a modest, likable manner, which thawed their attitude towards him. Also, they were drinking and having fun, so they probably were in a jolly mood.
