The longer intros were ridiculous

Nowadays if I want to watch Fantasia on a DVD or stream it on Netflix, I can't watch it as if it were on the VHS tape with that bad re-dub of Deems Taylor's voice and those extended detailed intros to every segment. I understand that's how they originally intended it to be but I don't see why they thought it was a better addition given how much it slows the films down whenever Taylor spoils a lot more of the images and events in every segment at an unnecessary length.

They would think that we know everything that happens when watching it today but they bore us anyway with reminding us what appears and spoiling it for everybody else who sees it the first time. They also insult people's intelligence rather than let them see the segments as they go, like when Taylor names off all the scientific details of the earth's evolution in The Rite of the Spring and all the characters and creatures that appear in The Pastoral Symphony.

It was tediously and redundantly unnecessary and I don't see why the Disney company doesn't release any editions today that retain the better improved version that trimmed those interludes down because they made no improvement on the film and only wore us out with too much information that we already knew or that would give too much away to the first time viewers.

I think they're super interesting but I definitely get your point. Maybe they should be played after the segment instead of before?
