What a waste...

What a waste of great talent like Gable and Lamarr.

This film is not that funny and quite dull; it feels rushed and slapped together I think.

Poor Clark and Hedy floundering around looking for something to grab onto and run with... They deserved better than this. :-/

Oh well, Hedy is still amazing to look at and it’s still fun to watch Gable do his agitated/frustrated guy-on-the-street character.

Rushed and slapped together it may (or may not) have been (just think of how fast they were turning out movies in that era), but I think there is a lot of funny dialogue-- snappy wordplay-- and it was not surprising to see that Ben Hecht was one of the primary writers.

For all you know they had a great time making this movie. It seemed like a lot of fun. I have stopped trying to figure out what the actors were thinking. I've seen a few movies lately that I really enjoyed. Later I found out one or more of the actors said they had the worse time on set; they hated the experience; the director treated them badly; no one got along; etc. I would have never guessed it based on the finished product. You may not have enjoyed the movie but I don't think you can judge what the experience was like for the actors. I happened to like the movie.

The script was kind of fun. Gable was fine; Lamarr was beautiful but empty. Could have used more of Eve Arden!

"Two jumps ahead of a butterfly net!" LOL This is a fine movie! Funny, witty. "I'd like to get some sleep before I die." Give it a chance. There may not be bright colors or special effects, but it's great! There's even a car chase! And a tank chase that left me gasping a few times! Capitulum!

Gable is pretty much limited to a replay of the character he did in "It Happened One Night"...a little looser tho. And I agree with those who think they had fun making this.
