Soundtrack

I LOVE NY Rhapsody from this movie, but have never been able to find it on Lp or CD. If anyone knows where I can get a copy I'd love to have it. I could take it out of the movie, but I'd like to have the full version without the talking and tears.

LOVE THIS MOVIE and SONG.

It was probably composed specifically for this movie and has never been played or recorded anywhere else, which is a shame. There is a lot of great music in movies, but alas about the only way you can get some of it is to do as you suggest and record it from the movie.

"Never played or recorded anywhere else?" Not unless you count http://www.musicweb.uk.net/film/2001/Aug01/Golden_Age.html

...made a concerto out of the music he composed for Deception, (1946), but I've never heard that he ever completed the Gershwinesque rhapsody he composed for this film, only part of which we hear.

Uh, it's not a song. It doesn't have lyrics. That's why they kept referring to it as a "symphony" in the film.

Sorry it's a Rhapsody, and I got the recording. But, thanks for pointing that out.

Did anyone besides me notice that the main theme of "Last Tango in Paris" sounds similar to Max Steiner's symphony? Maybe a bit TOO similar?
