Two Versions

I would love to see a Special DVD edition of this film which gives both versions of this film. Since they basically used alternate takes when they made the British version it would be great to be able to jump back and forth between the two films.

If Laurel and Hardy were treated seriously we would be seeing a heck of a lot more DVDs with special features and extra footage.

All the films available should be made available on DVD that means Spanish versions and other alternate versions should be released on one DVD. Lets see the original sound films with and without the added background music! Lets get serious with this great comedy team!

I agree. I don't understand why all of their movies aren't easily available on DVD. It's like they've been taken off the market for some reason. They need to do their features like they did Abbott & Costello's. Abbott & Costello have 4 box sets containing 6 to 8 features in each set, for a reasonable price. Then, they need to release all the shorts in box sets similar to the way they do television series box sets. They need all the shorts in chronological order. This is what they're currently doing with the Three Stooges. Why can't these studios get it right?

I assume it's a matter of ownership. I don't know who owns all the Hal Roach output. It seems like all L&H's MGM product (which doesn't do much for me) has been released a hundred times over. But someone or some organization seems to be holding onto all the Hal Roach stuff (the gold, as far as I'm concerned) for all it's worth. Go figure!
