DVD?

Why is "Christmas in July" not on DVD? It's about as close to a perfect comedy as you can get - and under 70 minutes. I have the DVD of Preston Sturges's other masterpiece (well, ONE of his other masterpieces) "The Lady Eve", so why isn't some company stepping up for "Christmas in July"? I love this film.

It's apparently been released on Region 2 DVD as part of a "Written and Directed by Preston Sturges" box set. My guess as to why they haven't released it yet is that it isn't nearly as well known as movies like "The Lady Eve" or "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek", which is a shame because it's a marvelous little film.

Just to update it is out now as part of the Preston Sturges box set with 6 of his other movies. Pick it up now.

Next month (10/27/11) arrives in Germany a new DVD of "Christmas in July" - new digitally remastered! I've seen a preview of the DVD, really good quality, better than the US and UK releases.
